Lieber Herr Marino ! Die Ausstellung CHILDREN OF AFRICA war eine der schönsten ubuntu-Ausstellungen bisher. ubuntu benennt Achtsamkeit, Respekt, Mitgefühl mit unseren Mitmenschen und die Kulturinitiative von SOS-KInderdorf namens ubuntu setzt dies zum Thema der Kindheit um - gemeinsam mit Künstlern, Autoren, Kulturschaffenden. Ihre Ausstellung war ein repräsentatives Beispiel, wie viel Inhalte und Emotionen man mit Fotografie vermitteln kann. Es war nicht nur eine wunderbar ästhetische Präsentation im Museum Münze Hall, die in den historischen Räumen besonders gut zur Geltung kam. Ihre Ausstellung war für uns auch Rahmenprogramm für ubuntu-Workshops, in denen wir jungen Menschen die Lebensphilosophie ubuntu näher bringen. Anhand von interaktiven Programmen und Dialog-Spielen wurde ubuntu vermittelt und jede/r TeilnehmerIn suchte sich ein Bild aus, um mit dem Kind zu sprechen, mit den Kindern auf Ihren Bilder ubuntu zu teilen ... Die SchülerInnen des Franziskanergymnasiums Hall ließen besonders einfühlsame Texte entstehen, die zeigen, wie intensiv sich die jungen Menschen mit nonverbaler Kommunikation und kunstvoller Aussagekraft auseinander gesetzt haben. Diese Art der Kunst-Vermittlung haben Ihre Bilder möglich gemacht! In den 6 Wochen Ausstellungsdauer haben sich zahlreiche Menschen in unser Gästebuch eingetragen - nur mit positiven Botschaften: "Danke für diese tolle Ausstellung, für diese schönen Bilder, die mein Herz berühren." Wir schließen uns diesen Botschaften an. Danke für die angenehme Zusammenarbeit und auf Weiterführung derselben ... das Thema der Kindheit ist ein umfassendes, facettenreiches, das in Ihrer empathischen Art der Fotografie noch vielfach umgesetzt werden könnte!

Mario Marino erscheint mir als Meister Großer Momente der Würde und zugleich ist er nicht einer blinden Demut dem Fremden gegenüber verfallen. Stan Dickinson : About the Taylor Wessing Prize at the National Portrait Gallery, London.The outstanding print, for me, was ‘Malega, Surma Boy, Ethiopia, April 2011’ from ‘Faces of Africa’ series by Mario Marino. I later discovered that it is the front cover of the catalogue, too; though not a prize winner. There is a beautiful honesty and dignity about the portrait – and indeed, the others in his series, now that I’ve had chance to look further - And I particularly like the superb use of tones and textures – brown skin and a brown wall behind – sounds unexciting but looked really, really, good.

Aino Laberenz : lieber mario marino, ich wollte mich eigentlich direkt nach der auktion 3000 melden und bedanken... wirklich von herzen bedanken. habe es aber durch meinen ganzen kram irgendwie nicht geschafft.nun bin ich seit einigen tagen in burkina.. und ich dachte da melde ich mich von hier aus. also quasi vom ort des geschehens.. vom operndorf.ich bin grade dabei alles für den weiterbau zu organiesieren. die krankenstation, schulerweiterung, solaranlage, ...und ich laufe hier mit einer anderen sicherheit durch die gegend! banal, aber wichtig, die finanzielle sicherheit. durch unsere aution am 8.märz konnte wirklich mehr als eine millionen euro eingenommen werden. das ist absolut unglaublich und nie hätte ich mit so einem überwältigendem erfolg gerechnet!und dafür möchte ich mich bedanken!! denn christophs operndorf kann weiter wachsen!so viele menschen haben mir in den vergangenen wochen geholfen und uns bei der auktion unterstützt. ich kann gar nicht sagen, wie dankbar ich bin und welche kraft und wie viel mut es mir gibt, zu sehen, welchen rückhalt dieses projekt hat. und dass letztlich jeder einzelne, der beteiligt war, einen beitrag geleistet hat, an das operndorf glaubt und es wirklich werden lassen will.also nochmal liebsten dank an dich !! und ich freue mich, dass du irgendwie auch ein teil des projektes geworden bist !
